All new starters enjoy a two-day induction programme, recently redesigned to include dynamic interactive and visual elements, to learn about Rocco Forte Hotels’ history, culture and the hotel they are joining. As well as meeting their peers, they’ll finish their experience by dining with their new General Manager.

From specific skills, like mixology, to broader topics, such as cultural awareness, service philosophy and behavioural approaches, we make sure every team member regularly gets the training that they need, both in-house and from external trainers. We don’t have a one-size-fits-all approach and we train our team to be the best they can be.

It’s important for team members to form bonds with their colleagues as well as develop and hone their skill sets in all areas. We offer the opportunity for team members to cross-train at different properties around Europe, getting an enjoyable insight into each location along the way.

Carolin Vega, Guest Relations Manager, Villa Kennedy

I joined Rocco Forte Hotels in 2006. After a year and a half I was promoted to Head Receptionist and received the opportunity to be on the opening task force for the then Rocco Forte hotel in Prague- The Augustine. I then completed my Hospitality Management Degree, and following this became Assistant Front Office Manager at the Astoria and Angleterre in St. Petersburg in Russia. I was then promoted to Front Office Manager at Villa Kennedy in Germany, where I’m still working today in the position of Guest Relations Manager.

Ruggero Silipo, Assistant Front Office Manager, Hotel De La Ville

My experience in Rocco Forte Hotels started back in 2010 as Assistant Guest Relation Manager for the Verdura Resort. I then moved to Rome for personal reasons and I had the chance to join the Hotel Russie Team, in 2011. I started as a Front Desk Agent and I got more and more responsibilities. I was also chosen to be Departmental Trainer, opportunity that was much appreciated. I am extremely proud now to be part of the Opening Team of Hotel De La Ville where I have been appointed Assistant Front Office Manager. I am sure there will be more to come!

Alessandro Scaffidi Abbate, In Room Dining Supervisor, Brown's Hotel

I joined Brown’s Hotel as a Commis Waiter in the English Tea Room before progressing to an In Room Dining Waiter. In In Room Dining I saw an opportunity to push myself and when I took on the In Room Dining coordinator role, I started to learn a lot more about how the department operates. With the support and guidance of my Manager I was promoted to In Room Dining Supervisor in 2018, which is an achievement I am very proud of. I am also currently completing the Forte Future Leaders training program which is improving my management & financial skills and helping me develop even further.

Ruben De Chavez, Shift Engineer, Brown's Hotel

I first started with Rocco Forte Hotels in 2005 at The Savoy Hotel, Florence as a Kitchen Porter. I then moved to Brown’s Hotel, London in 2017 as a Housekeeping Porter. In 2018 I was given the opportunity to join the Engineering department as I have a degree in Engineering and have always been dedicated to this field of work. I have now been with The Rocco Forte Hotel Family for 14 years and I am very happy, content and satisfied with my development and progress throughout the Rocco Forte Hotel Group. I wish to continue my career within this Family run group.
