Senior Project Manager
The Senior Projects Manager is a key member of the design and projects team at Rocco Forte Hotels. The design and project team are responsible for new hotel projects, refurbishments of existing hotels and considers the suitability of potential new hotel developments.
This role focuses on the management and delivery of the capital expenditure program of refurbishments of Rocco Forte Hotels’ existing portfolio of hotels across the UK, Italy, Germany, Belgium and Russia, as well as providing support for new hotel opportunities. The role requires proactive involvement from the project feasibility stage, through design development, tendering and execution on site to completion and handover to hotel operations. The Senior Project Manager will take responsibility for the timely and on-budget delivery of projects whilst ensuring the quality and design meet Rocco Forte Hotels’ standards and expectations.
During the lifetime of the project, they will organise, coordinate and communicate with all internal and external project partners and stakeholders and lead regular meetings, ensuring that detailed and accurate records of all projects are kept. They will provide regular updates on project progress, propose improvements and solutions where necessary and implement instructions and decisions from the group’s senior leadership.
The Senior Project Manager will lead and motivate the projects team whilst ensuring that they set high standards.

In this role you will fulfil the Rocco Forte Hotels’ mission by:
- Taking a leading role on all aspects of the project, reporting to the design and projects team leadership.
- Guide, instruct and review design proposals; prepare, negotiate and administer enquiries and contracts; develop budgets and timescale programs and manage to reflect actual progress; verify and take into account the obligations of RF Hotels to its owners and partners for the purposes of project implementation.
- Closely oversee and manage the project budget, providing regular status updates setting out commitments to date and comparing the total cost forecast with the approved budget. Where there is a risk to the approved project program or budget, provide explanations as required and suggest measures to prevent/mitigate risks.
- Comprehensively manage, instruct, inspect and snag construction work whilst proactively coordinating with the hotel’s operations team, oversee critical health & safety aspects of the activities.
- Coordinate communications, manage information flows, approvals and project-related activities; issue regular written and verbal reports to inform and request direction as required or requested.
- To work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders including the in-house project team, hotel operating team, ownership, designers, consultants, contractors and suppliers, and contribute towards the successful delivery of the hotel’s renovation plan from inception and until completion.
- Take part of workshops, design and value engineering meetings, inspections, site visits and other working sessions as required, including international travel if directed;
- Carry out any other activities normally within the Project Manager's remit so that the projects are properly completed on time and within the budget.
- Manage the design and implementation of temporary measures where required for the successful implementation of the projects whilst supporting the hotel operation during the works.
Who we are looking for

- A thorough understanding of the total project life cycle, from dealing with strategic issues at conception stage, through all of the operational stages to completion and post-project review.
- Excellent knowledge and experience of all of the main project management concepts, tools and techniques.
- Experience of managing commissions for medium to large sized construction projects of medium to high complexity.
- Excellent knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes and value management
- People management experience, particularly in the context of managing a team delivering a project.
- Experience within the hotel or luxury residential sector is a must.
- Experience within the commercial and residential sectors would be an asset
